In an effort to preserve the beauty and safety of Cape Hatteras National Seashore for both visitors and wildlife, the Seashore has teamed up with the Outer Banks Preservation Association (OBPA) to implement a "Pack It In, Pack It Out" program. This initiative encourages all beachgoers to minimize their impact by ensuring that everything brought onto the beach is also taken off at the end of each visit.
